We’re featured on a magazine cover!

Earlier this year, we had the opportunity to shoot the cover photo and editorial fashion spread for Jacksonville’s Wedding Styles magazine.  It was such a fun time working with one of my favorite wedding planners, Adair Currie of Dairing Events, who styled the whole shoot with more sugar and candy than we could all handle.  We also had the pleasure of working with my favorite accessories gals at Lenna Bea. The concept for the fashion spread was inspire brides to add a pop of color to their wedding day fashion and table settings.  Here’s a few sneak peeks below from our 12-page spread!

Hannah & Jarred are married! // Jacksonville Wedding Photographer

Hannah and Jarred originally met at a bonfire, and their love for the outdoors has continued into their love story.  They love spending time together outdoors hunting and fishing and anything outdoors.  They also have a huge love for spending time with their family who we too have grown to love so much through the different shoots we’ve done for them over the years.  Just last year, we photographed Jarred’s brother’s wedding for Brandon and Kristi, so this time around it felt like a family reunion.

On Hannah and Jarred’s wedding day, you would never know that Hannah just two days before was at the doctor trying to battle strep throat that came over her.  But she wouldn’t let even strep ruin the day she was marrying her best friend.  It was the day she marrying the one person who brings out the best in her.  She was marrying the man that she can look at and not say a word, yet he knows what she’s thinking.  With Jarred, Hannah always knows his big heart puts her first in everything, and that she can trust him to always put a smile on everyone’s face.  But that day, he was putting a smile on her face as she walked toward the man she had been waiting 4 years to marry.  Another special touch to the day, Hannah was wearing her mother’s wedding dress that had been saved for her all these years.

Here’s some of our favorite photos from the day and the awesome vendors we worked with that made it a beautiful day!

Jen & Steve are married! // Miami Wedding Photographer Villa By Barton G

There was a moment in the middle of Jen & Steve’s wedding ceremony that added a unique touch I have never seen at any other wedding.  The reverend spoke of how today was not only a celebration of Jen & Steve’s love, it was a celebration of the love that has been shown them through their closest friends and family, which has ultimately strengthened the deep love shared between the bride and groom they were there to celebrate.  Following Jen & Steve’s first kiss, the reverend then asked everyone in the audience to grab their loved one next to them, and plant a huge kiss on them.  This moment, as their family and friends shared their affections, was exactly what I knew Jen and Steve wanted, for their wedding day to be a coming together and celebration of their closest family and friends from all over the country, in their favorite spot of Miami, FL, where they often retreat to.

But before the kisses and hugs, there was not a dry eye in the house.  As Jen and Steve exchanged their vows of love and commitment to one another underneath the South Beach palm trees, not only did tears pour from Jen’s eyes as she said her vows to her soul mate and best friend,  an unexpected down pouring came from Steve as well. Pausing in the midst of his vows, Steve looked up for a minute to try to gather himself, and then continued on through tears of joy as he thanked his stunning bride for making him the happiest man alive.  As he dried his tears, and his vows came to an end, Steve smiled at his bride and reminded her, “We’re just getting started.”

Their wedding day was full of one surprise after another, and I just adored all of Jen’s black and gold touches with the decor, custom designed bridesmaid’s dresses and lace gloves, and her cake was one of the tallest I’ve seen!  But I think my favorite part of the day was their adorable ring bearer, their first child, Cavalli, as he wagged his tail down the aisle in a luxurious tuxedo with coat tails and gold buttons and a red bow tie to top it off.

Jen and Steve truly know how to throw a party!  Their reception started with a choreographed dance to a favorite song Jen used to special request Steve would play when they were first getting to know each other and she would visit him playing at local nightclubs. Their reception concluded with sparklers on top of bottle after bottle of Cristal champagne entering the party through their bridal party bringing them to center stage as Jen and Steve threw their arms around their favorite people and danced the rest of the night away.

When you look at Jen and Steve, and the way they look at each other, you see that special love and passion that is uniquely all theirs.  You look at them and know, true love is reflected back through each of their smiles.  You look at them and know that even though they’ve already been together for years and traveled the world a few times and back together, that as Steve said in his vows, their love story truly is just getting started.

Here’s some of our favorite shots of the day and their amazing vendors we worked with to make Jen & Steve’s wedding a celebration we will never forget!

The Vogelsang Family // Jacksonville Family Photographer

Each year we have the pleasure of documenting how this beautiful family grows up.  But each year, I secretly love the excuse to catch up with Sarah and Brian, having gone way back to when I shot their 2008 wedding, and now call them great friends.  I can’t believe how quickly their sweet Elle and Eli are getting so big, having been their from the beginning to document their once newborn sessions as well.  I recently ran across an image of my mom and uncle when they were Elle and Eli’s age, and looking at my own family history captured in the vintage black and photo, it really reminded me of how blessed Stephen and I feel to have the privilege of documenting other’s family histories as well.

Here’s some of our favorites from the shoot!
