As we look forward to what’s ahead in 2014, Stephen and I have also taken time to look back and reflect on some of our favorite images we got the honor to shoot for our amazing clients in 2013. Each year, God continues to surprise us with breathtaking weddings and portrait sessions that each become our new favorite in beautiful and unique ways. We feel so blessed each year to continue to be able to document our client’s most special memories, and while it’s really really really hard to pick our absolute favorites, here’s a little collection of some of our Best Of photos from 2013.

Lauren and Taylor can often be found riding their bikes on the beach near their beach home, so of course there was no better place for their wedding to be held than at the beach too! They celebrated their big day in Atlantic Beach at the One Ocean Resort and Spa, and what you can’t tell from the photos is that it actually poured rain right before Lauren walked down the aisle. But in that way that I’ve always said God smiles on wedding days, it cleared up just in time, not only taking the rain away, but the day was graced with a gorgeous double rainbow across the horizon of the surf that their ceremony overlooked.
We’ve never seen a bride laugh as much as Lauren did while walking down the aisle to her groom Taylor, but we loved seeing that this marriage began with such great joy as they started their lives together!
Here’s our favorite photos from the day and the awesome vendors we worked with as well!

Each year, we’ve had the privilege of watching this sweet girl grow up in front of our camera. Having documented her since her first birthday, and each year that follows, it’s such a joy to watch who she is growing up to become. This year as she turns 3, she was one big bundle of energy. Fascinated with the bright colorful leavings falling here in Nashville, Aubrey Jo, also known as “Priss” to those who love her dearly, had a blast running and running and running all around during the shoot. Priss and her mom Julianne live on a big piece of land in the middle of Georgia, so Priss is in that stage of exploring every little territory she can get her pink boots on. As Julianne said, “I don’t know if we got any Pinterest worthy shots today, but this is actually who Priss is at this age.” Julianne even let Priss pick out her own outfit so she could feel she has ownership of representing her personality of who she is as a 3-year-old. Rocking her cheetah headband like a pirate, she enjoyed playing swords with her mom with the long stem roses we used during parts of the shoot, or showing off her stick she found. She might have been in a tutu during past years photoshoots, but this year she’s definitely starting to show she just might be a little bit more tom boy at heart.
Here’s some of my favorite photos from the afternoon playing with Priss and her momma!
And we are still accepting portrait sessions in the Nashville area for the holiday season. Get your session reserved as soon as possible to allow time for processing and ordering Christmas cards! Email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your session with us!
