New portfolio site is now LIVE!

As you can see here on the blog, we’ve got a new look!  As Stephen and I’s photography style has evolved over the years, as well as moving into specializing more exclusively in photographing destination luxury weddings, we wanted to refresh our brand to better reflect the style of weddings we now specialize in.  With starting to shoot a lot in Miami, as well as other beautiful destinations, we wanted to incorporate a clean and simple high fashion feel to our site with more white like most of the boutique hotels are down in South Beach.  While we’ve stripped the hot pink background of this blog, we are still using my signature hot pink as a pop of color, but wanted our photographs to be the main source of color in the overall design.

Hi! I could have sworn I’ve been to this website before but after browsing through a few of the articles I realized it’s new to me. Anyhow, I’m definitely delighted I stumbled upon it and I’ll be bookmarking it and checking back frequently!

I am really impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you customize it yourself? Anyway keep up the excellent quality writing, it’s rare to see a great blog like this one these days.

@Brenda- Funny, you would have thought that UF would have caught up that before awarding me the Best Magazine Writer in the Journalism college. But I guess them Gators don’t know proper English. Yet another reason why Seminoles rule. wink wink :-)

There you go again—Stephen and I’s. I’s is not a word in the English language. It is Stephen and my …

Emily & Mike are married! // Jacksonville Wedding Photographer

Emily and Mike’s wedding day reminded me of what their college days must have been like a few years ago.  Lots of goofing off, lots of crazy dancing, and doing the beloved hand chop to the Seminole football anthem.  ”The wedding was pretty much was like a normal Saturday night with our friends,” Mike said.  ”Um, a very expensive Saturday night,” Emily reminded him with a laugh.

Emily and Mike’s love story began at Ken’s bar in Tallahassee when both of them were attending Florida State University.  Their favorite place to hang out, they even made the groom’s cake into a replica Ken’s bar mug, but this time with their names on it.  With a romantic proposal down in Key West, their love story moved them to Jacksonville where they are now sharing life with their two pups.  Their wedding day was filled with lots of fun grey and yellow designs, and I loved the use of chevron and stripe touches that added to the overall decor.

Here’s some favorite photos from the day and the fabulous vendors we worked with.

Cindy & Mike are married! // Ritz Carlton Amelia Island Wedding Photographer

One night in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Cindy and Mike met through mutual friends and hit it off instantly! While her personality is what Mike loves best about Cindy, Cindy will tell you about Mike, “I love everything about him! He is perfect.”  From Michigan to now living in Florida, Mike took Cindy down to St. Augustine and asked her to be his bride, and they began planning their wedding at the Ritz Carlton in Amelia Island.  With family visiting from all over the Caribbean, they loved Amelia Island as a gathering place for everyone to come together as one.  What turned out to be an extra foggy day, it didn’t stop their day from turning out just as perfect as Cindy feels about Mike.

Here’s some of our favorites below and the amazing vendors we worked with!

LizAnne & Reed are married! /// Alma, GA Wedding Photographer

Imagine a field in the middle of nowhere in Georgia… a manor with land that stretches beyond what the eye can see, covered in one blueberry bush after another.  Imagine old church pews of different shapes and sizes and textured wood brought in to circle around a lone giant oak tree…. imagine antique bottles and books and suitcases and sofas and teacups gathered from shops and families that outdo anything you could try to recreate from Pinterest or on Etsy.  Imagine a love so strong that it gathers over 400 people because in a town so small, literally, you know everyone and their families.  This place is Alma, Ga and this love story belongs to LizAnne and Reed on their beautiful wedding day held at a family member’s private manor.

Their love story is 10 years in the making from that night LizAnne first laid eyes on Reed playing guitar in a bar.  A few years later came along the love of their life, Ammons, their adorable son and ring bearer who rocked out his black suspenders and converse shoes on the wedding day.  And now, this December, LizAnne and Reed finally made their wedding worth the wait for family and friends as they gathered in the middle of nowhere on a Southern plantation to celebrate the next chapter of their love story that continues to be written. Just as their love story began that night in the bar when Reed was singing and playing with his band, Reed closed out the wedding reception by jumping on stage and rockin’ out the house before they scooted away under the sparklers in an old vintage car.

Here’s some of our favorites from their day and the awesome vendors we worked with!

Hannah & Jarred are married! // Jacksonville Wedding Photographer

Hannah and Jarred originally met at a bonfire, and their love for the outdoors has continued into their love story.  They love spending time together outdoors hunting and fishing and anything outdoors.  They also have a huge love for spending time with their family who we too have grown to love so much through the different shoots we’ve done for them over the years.  Just last year, we photographed Jarred’s brother’s wedding for Brandon and Kristi, so this time around it felt like a family reunion.

On Hannah and Jarred’s wedding day, you would never know that Hannah just two days before was at the doctor trying to battle strep throat that came over her.  But she wouldn’t let even strep ruin the day she was marrying her best friend.  It was the day she marrying the one person who brings out the best in her.  She was marrying the man that she can look at and not say a word, yet he knows what she’s thinking.  With Jarred, Hannah always knows his big heart puts her first in everything, and that she can trust him to always put a smile on everyone’s face.  But that day, he was putting a smile on her face as she walked toward the man she had been waiting 4 years to marry.  Another special touch to the day, Hannah was wearing her mother’s wedding dress that had been saved for her all these years.

Here’s some of our favorite photos from the day and the awesome vendors we worked with that made it a beautiful day!
