Lia & Morgan are engaged! // Charleston Wedding Photographer

When Lia talks about her future with Morgan, she jokes, “Our kids are going to turn out like a piñata!” she says with a laugh.  ”Who knows what we’re gonna get.”  She’s referring to Morgan’s Irish background, and her Columbian roots.  Yet, despite the separate worlds they came from, it was their love of medicine and science that brought them together.  Along their path of pursuing med school and PA school, they met through mutual friends, and the past 3 years have been inseparable ever since.  During a trip to Asheville, Morgan then got down on one knee and asked Lia to be his wife.  Now planning an outdoor wedding in Greenville, SC, they are excited to see what the future holds, piñatas and all.

For their engagement session, this Tennessee couple met us half way in Charleston for some fun photos around Boone Hall Plantation and the downtown historic streets of Charleston.  Here’s some of our favorites below!

Shara & Vinnie are married! // Villa By Barton G Miami Wedding Photographers

One thing that was said a lot during Shara & Vinnie’s celebration was, “You could never tell you guys have been together for 11 years, with the love you share, you act like you just started dating a few months ago.”  And it’s true.  Shara & Vinnie share such a beautiful affection for each other in the way he holds her close as if he never wants to let her go, and how she looks him in the eye telling him he’s the only one she’s ever wanted even 11 years later.

While originally meeting at NYU, and still living in New York, they wanted to have a destination wedding in Miami’s South Beach where their friends and family could have a fun celebration with them.  And these two know how to throw a great party!  Half way through the reception, they surprised their guests with Venetian masks and a sparkling Nebuchadnezzar size champagne bottle to pass around the dance floor of the Villa By Barton G, previous home to the distinguished fashion icon, Gianni Versace.

Stephen and I enjoyed traveling to Miami to shoot this wedding and getting to know Shara & Vinnie’s family and friends more personally as simply guests at their Italian rehearsal dinner the night before.  Here’s some of our favorite shots from their absolutely gorgeous South Beach day! And we’ll also be posting a few pics on our Facebook page, so be sure to “like” our page as well!

Love love love these photos! They really capture how truly happy (and gorgeous) Shara and Vinnie are! It’s so hard to pick a favorite, but I especially love the one where Vinnie sees Shara for the first time (he’s all scrunched!) and the one of them walking down the aisle after the ceremony with the rabbi celebrating in the background. Priceless!

It’s always fun to see our past weddings come alive again in wedding magazines and on wedding blogs.  We had two weddings featured recently with Weddings Illustrated Magazine, both in their magazine and on their blog.

Why you want to see October Baby on Friday.


Sometimes, a movie just… moves me.  I mean, sopping up tears with the greasy popcorn napkin kind of tears.  And it’s rare that a movie that makes me stream tears can also make me laugh out loud so hard I snort.  Yes, sometimes, a snort comes out.  Stephen and I were given the opportunity to see a sneak peek release of a new movie that I’m just gonna flat out tell you, you NEED to see on March 23.  It’s called October Baby, and it’s about a girl who in college finds out she adopted after a failed abortion attempt.  I know that’s a heavy topic usually reserved for political debates, but this movie showcases a tender journey that will completely make you cry and laugh all at the same time and heal places of your heart you didn’t even know were broken.  It’s more so a story about forgiveness.  It’s more so a story about unconditional love.  It’s more so a story about truth. It’s more so a story about miracles discovered right in front of you that you had no idea were miracles in the first place.

But when you go see it, I recommend you bring tissues so that you don’t have to wipe your tears on greasy popcorn napkins like I did.
